Privacy Policy

TaqwaTrack (also known as NamazTracker) helps Muslims track prayers, discover masjids, read Quran, and connect with the Ummah. This policy explains what data we collect and why.

Effective: 21 June 2026 Package: com.namaz.tracker.app Last updated: 21 June 2026

1. Introduction

Who this policy applies to

This Privacy Policy describes how TaqwaTrack ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use our mobile application and related services.

By creating an account or using the app, you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

We are committed to handling your information responsibly and in line with applicable privacy laws, including Google Play's User Data policies.

2. Information We Collect

What you provide and what the app collects automatically

Account & Profile

Email address, display name, profile photo, authentication identifiers (Firebase UID), and optional Google Sign-In profile data when you choose that login method.

Prayer & Spiritual Activity

Prayer logs, streaks, Quran reading progress, bookmarks, and related statistics you choose to track inside the app.

Location Data

Approximate or precise GPS coordinates when you grant permission β€” used for accurate prayer times, Qibla direction, nearby masjid search, and map features. Location is not collected in the background unless a feature you enable requires it.

Masjid & Community

Masjid follows, feed interactions (likes, comments), posts you create, and imam/masjid registration details if you manage a masjid account.

Matrimonial (Optional)

If you use Matchmaker, we collect profile details you submit (e.g. age, city, religious preferences, photos, voice/video intros, verification selfies). Sensitive fields are visible only according to your privacy settings and product rules.

Media & Device

Photos, audio, or video you upload; camera/microphone input for verification or voice features; push notification tokens; device type, OS version, and app version for notifications and troubleshooting.

Purchases

In-app purchase and subscription status processed through Google Play Billing (e.g. matrimonial premium, developer support tips). We do not receive or store your full payment card details β€” Google handles payment processing.

Support Communications

Messages you send us via email or WhatsApp support, including any information you choose to share when requesting help.

3. How We Use Your Information

Purposes of processing
  • Provide core app features: prayer tracking, alerts, Quran reader, masjid discovery, and community feeds.
  • Calculate prayer times and Qibla direction based on your location.
  • Send local and push notifications for prayers, masjid updates, and engagement reminders you opt into.
  • Operate optional features such as Ask Imam, tutor listings, matrimonial matching, and voice/video calls.
  • Process and verify in-app purchases and premium subscriptions.
  • Display advertisements through Google AdMob where applicable.
  • Maintain security, prevent abuse, enforce community guidelines, and comply with legal obligations.
  • Review user-generated content β€” including chat messages in Matchmaker and tutor features β€” when necessary to enforce our Terms of Service and protect users from harassment, abuse, hate speech, scams, or fraudulent activity.
  • Improve app performance, fix bugs, and develop new features.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

4. App Permissions

Why TaqwaTrack may request access on your device
  • Location β€” prayer times, Qibla compass, masjid maps, and nearby search.
  • Notifications β€” prayer alerts, masjid announcements, and app updates.
  • Camera β€” profile photos and live face verification for matrimonial profiles.
  • Microphone β€” voice introductions, calls, and audio recording features you initiate.

  • Motion sensors β€” Qibla compass orientation.
  • Internet β€” sync data, load maps, media, and cloud services.
  • Billing β€” Google Play in-app purchases and subscriptions.

You can revoke most permissions in your device Settings. Some features may not work without the related permission.

5. Third-Party Services

Trusted providers that help us run the app

We use industry-standard services that may process data on our behalf:

Google Firebase Google Sign-In Google Maps Google AdMob Google Play Billing Supabase Storage Expo Push / FCM
  • Firebase β€” authentication, cloud database (Firestore), and cloud functions.
  • Supabase β€” secure storage for user-uploaded media (e.g. profile and matrimonial photos).
  • Google Maps β€” masjid location search and map display.
  • Google AdMob β€” may collect advertising identifiers and usage data per Google's policies.
  • Google Play β€” processes payments; governed by Google's privacy terms.

Each provider has its own privacy policy. We encourage you to review: Google Privacy Policy and Supabase Privacy Policy.

6. Data Sharing & Disclosure

When information may be shared

We may share information only in these situations:

  • With other users β€” according to your profile visibility, privacy settings, and feature context (e.g. public leaderboard name, matrimonial profile to matched users).
  • With masjid admins / imams β€” for masjid pages, announcements, and community moderation you participate in.
  • With service providers β€” hosting, analytics, push delivery, maps, ads, and payment infrastructure under contractual safeguards.
  • For legal reasons β€” if required by law, court order, or to protect users, our rights, or public safety.
  • Business transfers β€” in connection with a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, with notice where required.

We do not share matrimonial verification documents or private account data publicly without your consent.

7. Data Retention

How long we keep information

We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements.

You may request account deletion at any time using the in-app flow described in Section 10 β€” Account Deletion, or by emailing us. After deletion is completed, some data may remain in backups or anonymized analytics for a limited period as permitted by law.

8. Security, Safety & Content Moderation

How we protect your data and community

We use Firebase security rules, authenticated access controls, encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), and restricted admin access to protect your information.

Safety, Security, and Compliance

We may process and review user-generated content, including communications in Matchmaker chats and tutor messaging, strictly when necessary to ensure compliance with our Terms of Service. This is done solely to protect our community from abusive behavior, harassment, hate speech, scams, or fraudulent activity. These measures help maintain a respectful, safe, and secure environment for all users.

Data Minimization & Access

Access to user communications is highly restricted. For members, Matchmaker reports can only be filed against someone you are actively matched with. For our team, review is limited to safety-related workflows β€” such as user reports, automated risk flags, or active moderation duties β€” and is not used to monitor personal conversations for advertising or unrelated commercial purposes.

Authorized administrators may review tutor–student and matched-member conversations only when needed for safety investigations, dispute resolution, or legal compliance.

No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. Please use a strong password, keep your device updated, and contact us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access.

9. Children's Privacy

Users under 13

TaqwaTrack is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

Matrimonial features are intended only for adults who meet the minimum legal age for marriage in their jurisdiction.
